Personal Impact and the Royal Canadian Air Force

Bill Orban's son was yesterday's guest on Chris Evans' Radio Two programme.

Bill who? Bill Orban creator of the 5BX Plan.

5BX what? Plan! A fitness method that debunks the notion that we need
sustained, rigorous exercise to become fit.

Yeah right! No seriously 11 minutes a day, three days a week, repeating
five simple exercises. That's all it takes.

Wow! Another best kept secret.

Bill apparently created the programme for the Royal Canadian Air Force way back in the late 1950's. Now, I don't know about you but 11 minutes three times a week seems pretty attainable to me. So I decided to do some Google research about the programme last night. If you want more on the programme you can download a copy of the original RCAF pamphlet here: http://www.gettingfitagain.com/5bx.php

What strikes you about the programme is how simple it is. Simple to understand. Simple to implement. No personal gym required. In fact it isn't unlike the PE exercises I did when I was a kid. And, like any personal practice it just requires a little discipline. This got me thinking about the personal practice plan we have for creating Instant Impact. Like the 5BX plan this is:

Simple because it is easy to do, easy to follow.

Progressive, because you can start to Stand Out,Command Attention, Build Credibility and Lead Decisions at your own rate, to your required level.

Balanced because you'll develop an attitude that's aligned with your expertise, results and value.

Complete because you'll be dovetailing your agenda with solving other peoples issues and opportunities.

Self-measuring because you'll set clear cut 'targets for impact'. Situations where you want recognition for the value of your work.

Convenient because you'd be able to use the Instant Impact tools any place, any time.

You'll have attended workshops and by the end of the session you know what to do. But, we then often don't do what you know. Instant Impact is different. Imagine having a practice plan in place that helps you put learning into action - for a change. That's exactly what you'll have by the end of your workshop.
