Is your personal impact trustworthy?
When you talk to a client you hope that they'll listen to you and take your advice. And, for them to do that, you need their trust.
How do you use impact impact to gain your client's trust?
It's simple - you take the spotlight off your needs and shine it on theirs.
Try this. Next time you have a conversation with someone you want to influence, ask yourself these three questions:
- Is what I'm about to say useful and relevant to them?
- Why is this important to them, right now?
- How can I make this a safe, interesting and enjoyable experience for them.
Then frame your conversation using your answers.
This eternal 'trust triangle' - of relevance, importance and safety - is something you can easily make a part of your personal practice. And, it will instantly make you even more trustworthy in your client's mind.
